Frequently Asked Questions
How long are sessions and what can I expect?
Individual sessions last 45 minutes, but for our first session, I ask that you leave at least an hour for us to get to know each other, establish some background, and set goals and expectations.
Couples sessions are ideally 90 minutes. With couples, I like to first meet all together, see each individually the following week, and then come together again as a couple for the weeks following.
I typically prefer to see clients once a week but am also available for double sessions, twice a week, every other week, or as-needed.
Do you take insurance or offer sliding scale?
I do not accept insurance but can provide a receipt for out-of-network reimbursement. In some cases, after reaching a certain deductible, insurance companies will reimburse a large percent of my fee.
My fee is $140 for a 45-minute individual session and $200 for a 90-minute couples session. I do offer a sliding scale depending on your ability. Evidence suggests that therapy is most effective when it is a substantial, but sustainable, investment. Your means are for you to decide. I will not ask for proof of income. But sliding scale spaces are limited and will be renegotiated on a six-month basis. Update: All sliding scale spots are currently full.
